Asta Morris, with founder and owner Bert Bruyneel, is a fellow Belgian bottler of whisky, rum and various French spirits, including cognac. Bert started his activities in 2009, which must have been about the time that we got to know each other and a beautiful friendship was formed. His first bottlings were a Glenlivet 1977 and some legendary Benriach's from the 70s/80s. We often saw each other at spirit festivals and at the Weedram Masters (midweek tastings with the most legendary bottles). An anecdote, on the first weedram tasting I participated in I forgot my own glasses, which apparently had to be done, the aperitif was then poured into my palm, hilarity everywhere! Bert doesn't take life too seriously and has an idiosyncratic opinion about our society, we love it.
