A Long-Awaited Reunion: Malternative Belgium presents Navarre '95, a tale of patience, passion, and exceptional quality!
We proudly announce that after three years of patient waiting, we are once again able to bring a special selection from the legendary Cognac House Navarre to Belgium. This '95 Grande Champagne is not just any cognac - it's a crown jewel from the cellar of one of the region's most respected producers. Since our first collaboration in January 2022, we have dreamed of a sequel. The path to this new selection was long and challenging, but that makes this release all the more special. Just like an excellent cognac, a good relationship needs time to reach full maturity. This '95 is an exceptional cask that Navarre is particularly proud of - and rightfully so. The cognac has won multiple gold medals at the prestigious Concours de Segonzac.
As independent bottlers, we are honored to share this exceptional cognac with our passionate clientele. It perfectly reflects what Malternative Belgium stands for: discovering and sharing authentic cognacs with a remarkable story.
Strictly limited availability (only 60 bottles) - exclusively available at Malternative Belgium
about the producer:
According to its own statement, the cognac house started in 1811, but the family already started producing cognac in the 18th century. The estate, Domaine du Renclos in Gondeville, was purchased by Pierre Navarre and the 'maison' was built in 1868. The current owner is Jacky Navarre (4th generation). He owns 11 hectares of vineyards exclusively in the grande champagne, of which 10 hectares are planted with 6% Folle Blanche grapes, 6% Colombard grapes and the rest Ugni Blanc grapes. In addition, he has 1 Ha of grapes for his Pineau. He distils himself and only has outside help during the harvest. Navarre Cognac is particularly known for its traditional approach to Cognac production, often with a strong emphasis on preserving traditional methods and authentic flavor profiles. All his cognacs are pure, unsweetened, no caramel and no boisé. He also does not reduce his cognacs with water. His motto is simple: "let nature do most of the work and the rest will come".
